Mason jars and swing top jars are my favorites. Although I've also recently discovered wine buckets (how much yarn does a wine bucket hold?).

Ha! I have a big silver champagne bowl I found at an antique store, but haven’t figured out what to put in it yet. Other than champagne, of course!

That could be wonderful for holiday decorating. Says the woman who has become profoundly lazy about decorating. But I love silver and all things shiny so the possibilities!

I use thrift store baskets in my sewing room to organize notions. But the special decorative item I look for at thrift stores is really nice soap dishes. My thing is to collect specialty soaps which requires pretty dishes to show them off.

Thank you for this inspiring post!! I have baskets for my linens in the kitchen and for our cat bowls and food. I really like the antique wine glass idea!! In my office I have vintage flower pots to store my pens, pencils, scissors and staple remover. It makes me smile to see every morning:)

I, too, love trays and bowls, especially. I've got silver trays, ceramic bowls (there's a ceramic studio near me that had a free box—my earrings that I keep on my nightstand are now living in a bowl I found there). I keep fabric trimmings in little bowls, just because I think they're pretty. I also love old mirrored trays, the kind that came with vanity sets (I also have some entire old vanity sets). Not as many baskets though. For somebody who doesn't dust, they are big dust traps. I do have them for laundry.

Mirrors and mirrored trays are great! I like to put vases with flowers on the (in case they drip).

I love this, especially since I've seen so many of these items as clutter holders, it's refreshing to see them used so thoughtfully!

You've got one smart cat.
