Beautiful! Scrap quilts are the best. I really want to make one from discarded clothes. My paternal grandmother, whom I never met, made a quilt out of her children's outgrown clothes when they left home - so emotional, like wrapping yourself in a hug from them.
This is a lovely way to mark time. And thank you for reminding us to play. I read something this week about how quilting started as a way to make something practical from scraps and has become something else entirely. Art quilts are great, but a quilt does not need to cost hundreds of dollars to be beautiful. This year, I want to make a quilt from thrifted jeans. And maybe a big tote.
I've been escaping into reading and taking photos, so many photos. And sleeping. The world is exhausting me. But reading has been my best escape for my whole life.
Lovely! I wholeheartedly endorse play! I needed a button for a skirt so I spent a couple of hours playing with the button box. Buttons spark memories and the skirt will be finished. We just had over two days of blizzard confinement. A friend and her cat sheltered with us so we played and mended in the studio. So much fun sorting and organizing ribbons. Next week I’m looking forward to shrinking the yarn stash! Sometimes the chore of dealing with things moved in and forgotten can be joyful and relaxing instead of overwhelming.

That is so sweet! I saved my worn out, beloved pajamas for this too.
What a beautiful quilt. I love this idea. Am sharing this with my sister-in-law who quilts.

My neighbor told me she reupholstered her truck seats with her late husband’s jeans. I thought that was so lovely.

Beautiful Quilt! I love the backing as much as the front too. Enjoy your creative time!
It’s so simple and lovely! I want to do some more strip quilting now.
I love this idea. I'm heading to my sewing room to pull out scraps and make my own quilt for 2026.
I can’t wait to see it when it’s done!

One corner at a time 💖
A beautiful quilt
Beautiful Sarai. It is so hard to "play" when sewing is your job!
True, but I think that’s why I love quilting so much these days.
