That "back to school" mentality -- even in my 70s, this still feels like the time to prepare for a new year. (Much more than January actually!) The sense that anything could happen, new things will happen, and I have a clean notebook and sharpened pencils to meet them!
I totally agree, this feels like the real start of the year! I actually feel like having a fresh start mid-year works really well, and another in January!
Making calendula flower oil with the marigolds from the garden for making salves once it’s ready. Waiting for the blackberries… running late this year.
It’s called the Cetara bag! My dimensions came out a bit different because I used some raffia I got on Amazon. The handle also ended up much longer, but that actually makes it pretty practical. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1476849492/
It’s a really cute pattern. The instructions are ok if you have some experience with crochet, and there are videos.
Oh, 100x yes on the bagel with August tomatoes! I like mine with cream cheese.
Absolutely!

Picking blackberries, and swimming in the lake are my favourite things !
Me too! I need to swim more though. I just finished making a swimsuit!
The blackberries are a highlight for me too. There’s something about getting a perfectly sweet and juicy one that tastes like summer.
Yes! I’ve gotten much better at picking the ripest ones on our walks.
Does your bag have a pattern? Looking foward to exchanging shorts for fall clothing.

For the first time in four years, our plum tree is chock full of plums. There will be jam!
