For those of us in cooler climates(Canada), Lindenberg Seeds, West Coast Seeds and Richter's Herbs have great selection as well as growing advice.

A suggestion for growing veggies - I've found that most critters will not eat cucumbers. You can pick them when they're small and most tasty. Also, try some root vegetables such as carrots and potatoes.

I did lots of carrots and beets last year! I’ve done cucumbers in the past, but had a hard time keeping up with eating them. Kenn doesn’t like pickles, for some reason I cannot fathom.

This is a great follow up to your podcast this week on sewing and gardening similarities! I shared what I took from the podcast with my garden club last night and it generated great interest. Hopefully some of the members will become Seamwork members as well!

Look forward trying out some of your suggestions. I'm in Maine--cosmos are always a predictable success:)

I also have critter problems here in Northern California. So thank you for the great info! You’ve given me the push to try again.

Thank you so much for sharing your flower recommendations Sarai! I have real decision paralysis when it comes to growing flowers, so I end up focusing on growing veggies and fruit instead. I've added these flower varieties to my seed order and hopefully the front yard will be more colourful this summer!
