My favorite discovery is Julia Louis Dreyfuss's podcast Wiser Than Me , where she interviews well known "old ladies" and they share the wisdom they've gained over long lifetimes... Jane Fonda & Diane Von Furstenburg to name a few, along with author Isabel Allende, whose books have captured my attention.
Also... I'm late to the game with this one, but I've discovered the joy of the Libby app!
I discovered the joys of camaraderie, regular physical activity, and singing (!) by admitting to myself that I actually am ‘old’ and joining my local Seniors Centre. I have fun there! There are all sorts of friendly and interesting people there!
This month I have had a hip replacement so my May has all been about self care and learning how to ask for help and accepting help.. Not easy for someone who is as a rule very I dependant.
My lesson from this has been that people are happy to help, I’m giving my friends and family permission to show their love and understanding towards me, and it’s been amazing
My best discovery has been Andrea Mowry’s DRK Everyday Socks knitting pattern. It’s rekindled my sock-knitting mojo and I think the fleegle heel is so fun!
Best discovery has been slowing down my creative process. I'm actually giving myself permission to stop for the day on whatever creative project I worked on and giving myself the gift of my evenings to be present for my family or work out or cook a good meal. I'm done burning the midnight oil, sequestered in my craft room because of some arbitrary deadline to finish my project.
My favourite discovery so far has been the Wishi app! Access to a stylist who provides you with a couple of looks - which I can put together with what’s in my closet, thrifting, a couple of new ready-to-wear items and a new me-made project!
