My favorite discovery is Julia Louis Dreyfuss's podcast Wiser Than Me , where she interviews well known "old ladies" and they share the wisdom they've gained over long lifetimes... Jane Fonda & Diane Von Furstenburg to name a few, along with author Isabel Allende, whose books have captured my attention.
Also... I'm late to the game with this one, but I've discovered the joy of the Libby app!
Thank you for reminding me about this! I heard her interviewed on Conan’s podcast and meant to check it out. It sounds awesome. And I love love love Libby!
I discovered the joys of camaraderie, regular physical activity, and singing (!) by admitting to myself that I actually am ‘old’ and joining my local Seniors Centre. I have fun there! There are all sorts of friendly and interesting people there!
This month I have had a hip replacement so my May has all been about self care and learning how to ask for help and accepting help.. Not easy for someone who is as a rule very I dependant.
My lesson from this has been that people are happy to help, I’m giving my friends and family permission to show their love and understanding towards me, and it’s been amazing
My best discovery has been Andrea Mowry’s DRK Everyday Socks knitting pattern. It’s rekindled my sock-knitting mojo and I think the fleegle heel is so fun!
Best discovery has been slowing down my creative process. I'm actually giving myself permission to stop for the day on whatever creative project I worked on and giving myself the gift of my evenings to be present for my family or work out or cook a good meal. I'm done burning the midnight oil, sequestered in my craft room because of some arbitrary deadline to finish my project.
My favourite discovery so far has been the Wishi app! Access to a stylist who provides you with a couple of looks - which I can put together with what’s in my closet, thrifting, a couple of new ready-to-wear items and a new me-made project!
My favourite discovery this spring is asking active questions.
And you, Sarai. I have learned so much from 'Making Time'!
Thank you, Lynn! That’s great to hear!

Best discovery this spring has been the Substack entries of artist and writer Austin Kleon.
Probably my favorite newsletter (and one of the ones I pay for). He’s awesome.

That’s so wonderful, Susan!

What a great thing to take away from it all. I hope your healing goes well. That sounds difficult, but it’s great to have people who want to help.
I’m enjoying our purple martins as they fly about and feed their hatchlings! And their song—amazing.
That sounds lovely. I had to look them up, since we don’t have them here.
I’ve been enjoying that too :)

Ooh, I’ll need to check that out! I need to get back into socks. They’re so great for knitting on the road.

Love that, Jeanine!
